The Office of the Fire Marshal is charged with the enforcement of the Connecticut State Fire Safety Code (CSFSC) as enumerated in Chapter 541 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

In addition to code enforcement, the Bureau conducts licensing inspections, fire investigations, hazardous material investigation, fire watch duty, public fire safety education, and plan review for all new construction.
