The motto "To Protect, Educate, and Serve" along with guiding principles that people are their first concern, emergency response is the top priority, success is based upon quality service, integrity is the foundation of excellence, and striving for excellence through continuous improvement all illustrate the Waterbury Police Department's commitment to community relations.
Today, the Waterbury Police Department employs some 350 men and women in an effort to provide citizens with the highest quality police services.
The past 150 years have witnessed many changes within the Waterbury Police Department. Although the styles of the uniforms, size and shapes of the patrol vehicles, locations of Headquarters facilities, and demographics of the Police Department have changed, one thing has not -- the dedication to service and hard work of its members.
