Land Record Fees

*Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 7-34a

Recording Document:
  • $70 for first page $5 for each additional Page
Recording Nominee Documents:
  • $160 for first page
    (flat fee if Assignor/Grantor on Release or Assignment; $5 for each additional page if not)
Surcharges:
  • $2 each transfer reportable to the State  
  • $5 if current mailing address of grantee not on deed
  • $1 if names of those executing/witnessing/acknowledging are not typed or printed under signature
  • $2 fee for assignments subsequent to the first two up to twenty 
Conveyance Tax (Form must accompany all transfers):
  • State:
    • .0075 x selling price (residential up to $800,000 & unimproved land)
    • .0125 x residential over $800,000 and non-residential
  • City:
    • .005 x selling price 
Map Filing Fees:
  • $20 any map/$30 subdivision maps
Copies:
  • $1 Per page for copies of documents in any format
  • $20 per day use of hand held battery-powered scanner
  • $3 per copy of Maps
  • $2 Certification of any document
