11/21/2012 - Letter to Businesses Re: Thomaston Ave. Water Main Break
Dear Valued Customer:

As you may know, we have a 36” water main break on Thomaston Avenue, just south of Brass City Automotive.  We plan on starting repairs at 4 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 until 6 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012.  The main reason for the extended repair time is that is a major transmission line that feeds a substantial part of the city and we must take due caution. Additionally, we will be installing a specialty gate valve that will enhance the system and help avoid future disruptions.

In order to help alleviate your concerns, we plan on keeping Thomaston Avenue open to local traffic from Huntington Avenue to Brass City Automotive for the duration while repairs are made.  A manned patrol unit will be at Thomaston Ave. and Huntington Ave. throughout the entire event to assist your customers.  If you have any concerns or questions, please call my office at 203-574-6712.

We apologize for any inconvience this may cause you and your valued business, and thank you for your continue patience and understanding as we endeavor to improve our city infrastructure. It is truly appreciated.

Mayor Neil M. O’Leary
