9/14/2012 - Tax Collector's Office Announces Changes to Tax Auctions

City of Waterbury Tax Collector’s Office is announcing that beginning September, 2012 no party may register to bid on any property if taxes, water, or sewer charges are owed to the City of Waterbury. Please note: registration now begins at 5:00 p.m. Once the auction begins, no further registration will be allowed.  The auction will begin as usual at 6:00 p.m.

Tax auction will take place on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Waterbury City Hall, Veteran’s Hall – 2nd floor, 235 Grand Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.

A $3,000 deposit in the form of cash or cashier’s check is required at the time of registration for each property being bid on.  Minimum bids on some properties are less than the amounts due in taxes, fees and other costs.
