5/24/2010 - Notice of Public Hearing-Community Development Block Grant Program

The Waterbury Development Corporation (WDC) the administering agency for the City of Waterbury’s Community Development Block Grant Program has proposed a substantial amendment to the Annual Action Plan for Program Year 34 (2008-2009). The amendment would reallocate the remaining balance in the Emergency Relocation line item of $114,765.94 to the Public Improvements Neighborhood Sidewalks line item so that funds will be available sooner to assist those areas most in immediate need, including the area around the Gilmartin School which is scheduled to open in September 2010.

In accordance with its Citizen Participation Plan, this substantial amendment was presented to the Citizens Advisory Committee for its review and approval. It was approved by them on April 21, 2010 and scheduled for a Public Hearing on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 6:15pm in the Waterbury Development Corporation 2nd Floor Brass City Room located at 24 Leavenworth St. The facility is handicapped accessible. The City will provide interpreters and assistance for non-English speaking, hearing impaired or disabled residents upon receiving a request at least four (4) days prior to this hearing date. Residents should call Casey Lawlor at 203-346-2607 x 101 to make this request.

A thirty (30) day public comment period will commence on April 24, 2010 and end on May 24, 2010. Comments may be submitted in writing to Casey Lawlor, Waterbury development Corporation, 24 Leavenworth Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.
