City of Waterbury Invites Residents to Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary
(WATERBURY, CT) – Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. invites residents and visitors to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with two community events that will bring families together to honor the nation's history, celebrate community spirit, and enjoy the Independence Day holiday.
The celebration begins on Friday, July 3, with an afternoon of family fun at Hamilton Park, located at 110 Hamilton Park Road, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event will feature live music, games, arts and crafts, food, and activities for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment in one of the city's beautiful parks.
The festivities continue on Saturday, July 4, with Waterbury's annual Independence Day fireworks display. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. and will be launched from Holy Land USA. The display will be visible from locations throughout the city. Residents are encouraged to look toward the illuminated Cross atop Holy Land USA for the best view of the fireworks.
"America's 250th anniversary is a historic milestone and a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together in celebration," said Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. "Whether you're enjoying the festivities at Hamilton Park or watching the fireworks light up the sky over Holy Land USA, I encourage everyone to join us as we celebrate our nation's independence and the pride we share in our city and our country."

Both events are free and open to the public.
