Annual Street Sweeping Program

The City’s residential street sweeping program began on Monday April 13, 2026 and continues daily with two crews.

(Weather Permitting).

 

Property owners are asked to begin sweeping their sidewalks into the immediate gutter line, removing any debris, litter and leaves. Sand should not be swept into large piles.

Public Works Crews began the annual sweeping program on Monday 04/13/26 crews will be sweeping in the following areas:

 

Crew One has completed operations in Public Works Districts 6-1 and 6-2 and will proceed to districts 6-3 and 6-4 beginning May 7th

District 6 is comprised of streets primarily in the northern end of the City starting at the Waterbury/Wolcott line and continuing south and west to the Walnut and Wolcott St. areas

 

Crew Two has completed districts 3-1 and 3-2 and will proceed to districts 3-4 and 3-4 beginning on May 7th.

 

District 3 is comprised of streets in the southern and eastern parts of the city. District 3-3 and 3-4 and includes streets in the Pearl Lake Rd. Peidmont St. aand Edgewood Ave areas.

 

The Public Works Department will post signs in the districts prior to scheduled sweeping. Every effort should be made to remove parked vehicles from the scheduled routes prior to the arrival of the sweepers. Vehicles not removed during the sweeping operation may be towed at the owner’s expense.

 

 

Weekly updates will be posted in the newspaper and on the City website (www.waterburyct.org). Please refer to the website for a detailed listing of streets in each of the districts.
