Mayor Pernerewski and Board of Aldermen President Digiovancarlo Announce Rescheduling of February 23 Board Meeting

(Waterbury, CT) Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. and Board of Aldermen President Michael Digiovancarlo announced today that the regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen scheduled for Monday, February 23 at 6:00 p.m. has been canceled due to a significant winter storm expected to impact the region.

The meeting will instead be held as a Special Meeting on Wednesday, February 25 at 6:00 p.m.

Forecasters are calling for heavy snowfall, potentially exceeding a foot in some areas, along with strong wind gusts that could create hazardous travel conditions, blowing snow, and possible power outages.

With a major winter storm approaching, our top priority is the safety of our residents, city staff, and elected officials, said Mayor Pernerewski. Rescheduling the meeting allows everyone to remain off the roads and ensures our public works and emergency personnel can focus fully on storm response.

Board of Aldermen President Digiovancarlo added, We appreciate the public s understanding as we take proactive steps to keep our community safe. We encourage residents to monitor official city communications for updates as the storm approaches.

Residents are urged to use caution and limit travel during the storm.
