New Year’s Day Refuse and Recycling Collection Schedule

(Waterbury, CT) In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday on Thursday, January 1, 2026, the City of Waterbury Department of Public Works announces changes to the refuse and recycling collection schedule.

The following changes will be in effect:

• There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Thursday, January 1, 2026
• Collections normally scheduled for Thursday will be collected on Friday, January 2, 2026
• Friday collections will be completed on Saturday, January 3, 2026

The Mark Lane Transfer Station will also be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

All refuse and recycling will be collected, although pickup will occur on this adjusted schedule.
