Water Main Break on Oakville Avenue

(Waterbury, CT) The City of Waterbury Water Department is currently responding to an 8-inch water main break on Oakville Avenue.

The affected area extends from approximately 210 Oakville Avenue to Whitewood Road. An estimated 25 properties are impacted, including multiple condominium complexes located within this section of Oakville Avenue.

Water Department crews are on site and actively working to isolate and repair the break. Residents and businesses in the affected area should expect to be without water service for approximately four to six hours while repairs are completed.

Once service is restored, residents may experience temporary discoloration or air in their water lines. This condition should clear by running cold water for several minutes. Additional guidance will be provided if a boil water advisory becomes necessary.

The city appreciates the patience and cooperation of affected residents while crews work to complete repairs as safely and quickly as possible.

Updates will be provided as new information becomes available. For additional information, please visit www.waterburyct.org.
