SECOND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PROPOSED 2023-2024 CD YEAR 49 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN


In accordance with the City of Waterbury’s Citizen Participation Plan, the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 5:30 PM at City Hall, Veterans Memorial Hall, 2nd Floor, 235 Grand Street for the purpose of receiving public input on the City’s proposed CD YR 49 (2023-2024) Annual Action Plan. 

The Annual Action Plan delineates proposed activities to be funded under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program, and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program. HUD notified the City of its allocations for the upcoming program year on February 28, 2023. The 2023-2024 CD YR 49 allocations are as follows: $2,133,069 (CDBG), $186,749 (ESG), and $979,755 (HOME). Program income is anticipated to be $2,500 for HOME and $14,000 for CDBG. 

Veterans Memorial Hall is handicapped accessible. The City will provide interpreters and assistance for non-English speaking, hearing-impaired, or disabled residents upon receiving a request at least three (3) business days prior to this hearing date. A thirty (30) day public comment period commenced on March 31, 2023, and will end May 1, 2023. Drafts of the proposed plan are available for public review at the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand Street; the City Clerk’s Office, 235 Grand Street; and the Office of Community Development, 235 Grand Street. The Plan is also available on the City of Waterbury website a www.waterburyct.org/services/community-development.
