2023 Waterbury Sidewalk Rehabilitation Program Schedule

The City of Waterbury Engineering Department is pleased to announce the preliminary sidewalk rehabilitation list for the 2023 construction season.  Residents are advised that once the sidewalks are rehabilitated, there is a 5-year moratorium on performing any excavations within the newly reconstructed sidewalk, except for legitimate emergencies.  Any work that will require excavations in these sidewalks should be scheduled before paving starts.  Factors considered in selecting the streets include age, condition, traffic volume, proximity to other work and underground sewer, water and gas repairs or replacements scheduled within the next 5 years.

East Main Street from Police Station to Wolcott Road on southerly side

Grand Street from Travel Center to Leavenworth Street – one side

Baldwin Street – portion

Handicap ramps and spot repairs will be performed in various locations throughout the City.
