Public Informational Meeting on the Proposed Food Hub

An informational public meeting will be held on October 10, 2018 at 6:00PM at 619 South Main Street Waterbury, CT 06706 providing a summary of proposed cleanup activities associated with the development of Lot 19 at the corner of Mill Street and East Liberty Street into a “Food Hub”.

The project will include the remediation of the site’s soils in accordance with Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection regulations, and construction of a single commercial structure on approximately 5,000 square feet (sft) of land area.  The Food Hub will serve as a vegetable and fruit washing facility for local farmers before they sell to customers.

 The attendees will be provided an overview of the draft Alternative Brownfield Cleanup Analysis and draft Interim Remedial Action Plan.  Time will be allotted for questions or comments from the public.

 

Notice of Public Review and Comment Period

 The public may view the environmental documents by appointment or walk-in at the Waterbury Development Corporation, 83 Bank Street 3rd Floor, Waterbury, CT 06702 during the business hours of 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.  Comments, written statements or questions relative to the proposed environmental activities may be submitted to Mulhall@wdconline.org or 203-346-2607 X7275. Plans are also available for public review by visiting http://www.wdconline.org or http://www.waterburyct.org.  The public review process will remain open through November 6, 2018.
