SOUTH ELM STREET
One-Way, Southbound;
Union Street to East Clay Street
Please be advised that effective April 11, 2017 South Elm St will be ONE WAY southbound from Union Street to East Clay Street
Currently, South Elm Street is One-Way, in the southbound direction for several hours in the morning while the two schools (Maloney Magnet and Sacred Heart) are dropping off children.
South Elm Street will be made one–way permanently to keep traffic congestion down, facilitate traffic flow during school drop-off and dismissal periods, reduce traffic conflicts and improve overall safety.
On Tuesday, April 11, 2017, the Public Works Department will make South Elm Street, from Union Street to East Clay Street, One-Way southbound and install the necessary traffic signs to accommodate this change.
In addition, the traffic signal at Union Street & South Elm Street will be modified to reflect the revised Traffic Signal Plan approved by the Office of the State Traffic Administration (OSTA).
