12/2/2015 - Waterbury Symphony Orchestra Musical Instrument Donation Drive Continues Feb. 7

The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra' continues its first-ever instrument-donation drive - Instruments 4Kids - on Feb. 7 at Mattatuck Museum.

 

Community members are asked to donate instruments in working conditions at drop-off sites and/or sponsor the purchase of new instruments for children in school music programs.
Although two drop-off events have already been held, the final event is on Feb. 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Mattatuck Museum during the final day of the exhibit, “A Wonderland of Snow: The Life and Music of Leroy Anderson.” Donors, their family and friends will enjoy free admission to the exhibit.
The Instruments 4 Kids Committee has many sponsors, including the Waterbury Regional Chamber, the Palace Theater, Mattatuck Museum, Post University, Naugatuck Valley Community College, UConn Waterbury, Waterbury Public Schools, Artsplace, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury, the Hispanic Coalition and the United Way of Greater Waterbury.
