7/1/2015 - New water rates July 1; average quarterly increase less than $3

New water rates that were recently approved take effect July 1. For a typical single-family house using 22.5 hundred cubic feet of water in a quarter, the quarterly bill would increase $2.70 under the new rates. This modest increase will allow the City to address the long-ignored challenge of repairing our Water and Sewer Infrastructure. The Water Consumption Charge increases from $2.31 to $2.43 per hundred cubic feet (a 5% increase), while the Water Service Charge remains unchanged at $5.00 per quarter.
