Today at Waterbury City Hall, Attorney Adrienne Dean Parkmond was honored with the African American Mayor for the Day distinction.
Adrienne serves as Chief Operating Officer for The WorkPlace, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing employment and job training services to adults and youth in Southwestern Connecticut. She is responsible for the design and implementation of programs for youth, people with disabilities, veterans, dislocated workers and mature workers. The program, now in 11 states across the country has been featured on 60 Minutes, CNN, Bloomberg and various other national news outlets. Attorney Parkmond is also an Associate Professor of Legal Studies at Post University and Naugatuck Valley Community College. She received her B.S. from Villanova University and her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law. Adrienne serves on the Board of the CT Women's Educationa and Legal Fund, has served on two Charter Revision Commissions for the City of Waterbury as well as the City of Waterbury Human Rights Commission, and the City of Waterbury Board of Assessment Appeals.
