5/19/2014 - Street Sweeping, Week of May 19

The City’s residential street sweeping program began on Tuesday April 1, 2014 and will continue through completion which is expected to be early June.

Property owners are asked to begin sweeping their sidewalks into the immediate gutter line, removing any debris, litter and leaves. Sand should not be swept into large piles.

Crew 1 will continue working in District 3. Work in District 3-1 is completed and the crew will be working in District 3-2 which encompasses the area from the Prospect town line northerly to Harpers Ferry Rd and includes the East Mountain area.

Crew 2 will be working  in District 1-4 which encompasses the following areas: Country Club Rd easterly to Kennedy High School; Chase Parkway southerly to Chipman St.

Crew 3 will be continuing work in District 2-1 which includes the Western Hills, Robinwood and Chase Parkway areas. Crew 3 will then moved to District 2-4 which encompasses the area from the Watertown town line southerly to Aurora St and Oakville Ave easterly to Colonial Ave.

The Public Works Department will post signs in the districts prior to scheduled sweeping. Every effort should be made to remove parked vehicles from the scheduled routes prior to the arrival of the sweepers. Vehicles not removed during the sweeping operation may be towed at the owner’s expense.
