NOTICE OF SECOND PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY, APRIL 15, 2014

Notice is hereby given that the Citizen Advisory Committee ( CAC) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at 5:30 PM for the purpose of receiving public input on the City of Waterbury’s proposed 2014-2015 CD Year 40 Annual Action Plan (AAP). The hearing will be located at City Hall, Veterans Memorial Hall 2nd Floor, 235 Grand Street.  The facility is handicapped accessible.  The City will provide interpreters and assistance for non-English speaking, hearing-impaired or disabled residents upon receiving a request at least four (4) days prior to this hearing date.  Residents should contact Casey Lawlor at 203-346-2607 x 7281.

The 2014-2015 Annual Action Plan identifies how this year’s funds will be used.  This year's HUD CDBG, HOME and ESG funding resulted in the following allocations: $1,913,444 (CDBG), $162,197 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) and $657,694 HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME).  Program income for 2014-2015 is anticipated to be $14,000(CDBG) and $16,300 (HOME).  In addition, the City has also estimated that it will have approximately $30,000 in funds from previous years due to the cancellation of projects/activities or the completion of them under budget. 

Citizen’s comments on the proposed plan are welcome and encouraged at the hearing. Copies of the proposed plan are available at the Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand Street, Waterbury Development Corporation (WDC), 83 Bank Street, 3rd Floor and the City Clerk’s Office, 236 Grand Street, Waterbury. The plan is also available on the City of Waterbury website: www.waterburyct.org and the WDC website: www.wdconline.org. In addition, citizens may submit written comments as part of a thirty (30) day public comment period which commenced on April 1, 2014. Written comments regarding the plan may be submitted in to the attention of Casey Lawlor, WDC, 83 Bank Street, 3rd Floor, Waterbury, CT 06702.  Any comments received during the comment period will be forwarded to the CAC.
