7/15/2013 - City Opens Cooling Centers

 

Due to high temperatures, the city of Waterbury is opening two cooling centers to help local residents stay cool during this heat wave.

The following cooling centers will be open Monday July 15, Tuesday July 16, Wednesday July 17, Thursday July 18 and Friday July 19, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

  • Silas Bronson Library, 267 Grand St.
  • WOW/NRZ Community Learning Center, 308 Walnut St.

New Opportunities, Inc. (232 North Elm St.) is opening up their auditorium as a cooling center Saturday July 20, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday July 21, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
