Waterbury's Fourth of July Plans Announced!
The Office of the Mayor announced that Telstar Display Fireworks Inc., the leading producer of pyrotechnic events in New England and New York, will help Waterbury observe the Nation's 228th birthday on Sunday, July 4th, 2004 with a dynamic display of fireworks at Municipal Stadium located at 1200 Watertown Avenue.
Gates at the Stadium will open at 5:30 pm. The celebration will include music by Dave Gardino and Swing Shift and local celebrities scheduled to make appearances include Miss Greater Waterbury, Lilliannette Rodriguez; Miss Brass City, Melanie Duva; and Rivera-Hughes Pre-teen Queen, Samantha Santiago.
The ceremony will begin at 7:45 pm with the singing of the National Anthem by Samantha Chiappalone, followed by speeches and musical performances. The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 pm.
Admission is free. No alcoholic beverages, personal fireworks - including sparklers - or silly string will be allowed. Frankie's food concession will be open from 5:30 pm until closing.
In case of rain, the celebration will take place on Monday, July 5, 2004.
