The Waterbury Water Department has a water main break on its 36” Low Service Transmission Main on Thomaston Avenue, approximately 400 feet south of the intersection of Huntingdon Ave.

Repair efforts will include an excavation for the installation of a Line Stop 200 feet south of the intersection and a second excavation in the area of the leaking water main. The work is scheduled to start on Monday December 1, 2014 at 7 am, and should be completed by mid-day on Wednesday December 3. During that time there will be traffic lane restrictions, so motorists should avoid this area if possible, or use caution when proceeding through the work zone.

There may be some temporary discolored water or a small drop in pressure in some areas, especially in the lower elevation areas of the City. Please check for discolored water before using washing machines or other water using devices and reschedule their use after cleaner water conditions return.
