Mission
The Department of Inspections shall ensure and improve the public safety by regulation of construction, alteration, demolition, maintenance, location, occupancy and thorough oversight of all buildings and structures to see they adhere to the state of Connecticut Basic Building Code. The department provides building, electrical, plumbing, heating and sign permits to the public.
